Stage 6 Food Technology
From Roots to Results
Food Technology is an elective course that develops students' knowledge, skills and understanding of the importance of food in ensuring the well being of all Australians.

Students develop food skills and an understanding of food properties, processing, preparation, nutrition and consumption. Students learn to evaluate food choices in a range of contexts and to consider technological, cultural, economic, social and environmental factors.

Stage 6 Food Technology encompasses aspects of Food Chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology and Product Development.

You have all been given a copy of the
Stage 6 Syllabus. This is for you to keep -

Senior Students - YOUR OWN

What does this mean?
Taking the initiative to complete extra/further reading on top of class reading.
Regularly complete/update study notes.
Email/ see the teacher if you miss a lesson to catch up on work.
Complete practise short answer/ essay questions and hand them in to be marked.

A4 Exercise Book OR alternatively Folder with Paper. However, everything must be kept in order; ORGANISATION IS THE KEY. Organise by syllabus points.
Display Folder OR Plastic Sleeves (kept in folder) for any worksheets.
Laptop.
Textbook 'Food Technology in Action' 3rd Ed.
College Diary.
Bring the syllabus to every lesson.

ATTACK the Question (Pick out the syllabus point it is asking you to respond to. Make sure you are answering what it is asking).
PLAN (2 minutes).
PEEL (Modality, S.S.T, Links to the Question).
