Lewis Carroll
Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, etc.
He lived from - . Lewis' books were a big success. This presentation will tell you about Lewis Carroll's life.
Childhood
When he was a child, Lewis Carroll was very creative. He invented games, made poems, and wrote stories to entertain him and his siblings. He had ten siblings. He had three brothers and seven sisters. His stories as a child were similar to his stories as an adult.
As a kid, Lewis loved photographing things. As he got older his interest in it got more important. He photographed people like poet Alfred Tennyson, actress Ellen Terry, and any child.
Lewis Carroll's name is really Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. He came up with the name Lewis Carroll by translating his first name and his middle name into Latin, flip - flopped their order, and translated them back into English.
The Book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
The book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is about a young girl who falls down a rabbit hole, and into a different world, because she wanted to chase the white rabbit. In the world she finds many things that are not the same where she's from. Alice tries to get used to the new world, but it is hard. She meets many friends. She meets a caterpillar (not really her friend!), a Duchess, a deck of cards, the queen of hearts, and of course the white rabbit. This book is sort of like the movie, but not really. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes books about adventures in strange places. Kind of like the Wizard of Oz.
Lewis used to meet with a young girl, Alice Liddell. One day they went on a picnic. Later Lewis Carroll wrote about Alice falling down a rabbit hole. He also wrote some of it down for Alice Liddell. The original name for the book was
Alice's Adventures Underground.
Where "Alice" Began
Lewis Carroll Quotes
One of the secrets of life is that all that is really worth doing is what we do for others.

I can't go back to yesterday - because I was a different person then.

Which form of proverb do you prefer Better late than never, or Better never than late?

Who in the world am I? Ah, that's the great puzzle.

"Why it's simply impassible."
Alice: You mean impossible.
Door: No, I do mean impassible. Nothing's impossible.
Lewis Carroll
is a great
writer!
