Know the INVERTED PYRAMID of WRITING!!
Indonesia, a member of the G20, has
achieved progress in some
Millennium Development Goal (MDG) targets which include
the poverty rate reduction to 11.37 percent
(4 percent decrease in the course of five years).
In 2012, the GDP per capita has increased to USD 3,556
(6 percent increase from 2009 to 2012)
for over 246.9 million of Indonesians. Nevertheless, the disparity remains
a serious challenge
throughout 33 provinces that stretches out in over 13,000 islands. In the eastern part of Indonesia, the poverty rate double the national level and geographical remote locations have caused
lack of critical public services
provision such as health and education.

Be active not passive
To make something less accusing – “this bill has not been paid”.
When you don't know who or what the doer is, and it doesn’t matter – “the England team has been picked”.
If it genuinely sounds better.
When is the passive tense OK?
Use strong, concrete verbs
