Indonesia, a member of the G20, has
successfully

achieved progress in some
critical
Millennium Development Goal (MDG) targets which include
the poverty rate reduction to 11.37 percent
(4 percent decrease in the course of five years).
In 2012, the GDP per capita has increased to USD 3,556
(6 percent increase from 2009 to 2012)
for over 246.9 million of Indonesians. Nevertheless, the disparity remains
a serious challenge
throughout 33 provinces that stretches out in over 13,000 islands. In the eastern part of Indonesia, the poverty rate double the national level and geographical remote locations have caused
stalled progress
and
lack of critical public services
provision such as health and education.

Break up long sentences
First, to make progress in both developing a new theory to underpin systemic change and weakening the existing theory and its hold on academia we aim to establish a bulkhead for systemic change in economic academia through creating a new economic model which does not follow the dominant conventions of assuming equilibrium, excluding the financial sector and not recognising that environmental changes we face have thresholds that are non-linear, irreversible and have fundamental impacts on the rest of the economy.

Be active not passive
