provide medical treatment, prescription glasses, or sight saving surgery. Glasses Toms was founded in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie. He got the idea on a trip to Argentina when he saw kids barefoot because they couldn't afford shoes. He later discovered the traditional Argentinian footwear called Alpargatas. He then got the idea to make his own version for the North American market. For every pair bought another pair would be given away free of charge to children living in places of poverty. ONE FOR ONE became their slogan. After all of these years TOMS has helped hundreds of thousands of peaple around the world. Distribution TOMS benefits children by not only giving them a pair of shoes but by giving them confidence. They also help by protecting their feet from cuts which can turn into infections and diseases, and can even eventually lead to a lost limb. It also helps with their education by helping reach school uniform standards.
