40% of the South American rain forest were cleared for livestock
22 million hectares of land is soybean acreage
79% of soy is used as livestock feed Deforestation of the Rainforest agricultural livestock contributes 40% more to global warming than the world's entire transport traffic
   indirect air pollution by CO2 emissions due to deforestation and slash and burn waste of energy To produce meat you have to apply a few more energy than for wheat etc. The calories that are lost in the conversion of plant foods could feed 3.5 billion people.
According to BBC 1 billion people go hungry Water-Wastage 15-20000 liters of water are needed to produce 1kg of beef
