Resultant force is made up of two different forces
Vertical and Horizontal
If the earth is spinning east do you think it is faster to fly west?
A number of forces acting on an object may be replaced by a single force that has the same effect as all the original forces acting together. This single force is called the resultant force.
Use diagrams to describe qualitatively examples where several forces lead to a resultant force on an object.
Use vector diagrams to illustrate: resolution of forces; equilibrium situations and determine the resultant of two forces including magnitude and direction.
Use a free body diagram to show the magnitude and direction of the forces acting on an object
A single force can be resolved into two components acting at right angles to each other.
The two component forces together have the same effect as the single force.
If the forces on an object are balanced then it will carry on as it is.
If the forces on an object are unbalanced then
the resultant force will cause the motion of the object to change.
The bigger the force, the bigger the change in motion.
When two objects push or pull against each other,
the forces that they feel are equal and opposite.
