How did the Oort Cloud get it's name?
Its named after the astronomer who discovered it, Jan Oort.
What is it made of?
It is a thick bubble made of icy debris.
Fun Fact:
Even at a current speed of a million miles a day, Voyager 1 won't reach the Oort Cloud for 300 years. Also, it would take 30,000 years to reach the other side.

It takes up a space between 2,000 and 5,000 AU(0.03 and 0.08 ly).
