Introduction
A rubber basketball is used indoors and outdoors to play a basketball game. We are about to tell you how a rubber basketball is made.
1st step: Raise and extract
To get the rubber to make the basketball they cut the bark off rubber trees and harvest the latex sap that flows out. This rubber will be used on the shell. For the inside bladder and polymer are extracted to create the black rubber ball that holds air. The last material that is needed is nylon which come from fabrics produced by the condensation of petroleum gas.
2nd step: Process
After the materials are extracted, they are then processed and refined. The rubber is added with water and mixed so that it hardens into chunks of rubber. Then these chunks go through a machine called called Weller and then are made into long sheets of rubber. Inc is then added to give it it the classic orange color.

3rd step: Manufacture

After the basketball is finished, a company logo is put onto the ball then it is sent to stores all around the world. The basketball is then ready to be purchased by a consumer, who will use the basketball to play the game. The average life of a basketball is 4-5 years if used steadily. The grips will eventually wear out and then cracks that cause air leaks will occur. A basketball bounces about 3,000 times per a game. This will wear out a basketball.

The main part of the basketball is the bladder which holds the air in and allows it to bounce. To make the bladder, first the nylon fabrics are mixed with a certain type of synthetic rubber and then is cut into rectangular sheets. Once this is done, an air is inserted into a 1 in. diameter hole.
The bladder is then seamed so that it can be properly inflated. The final step is vulcanization. The rubber is heated at a high temperature so that it becomes stronger and more durable. After vulcanization, the bladder is observed to see if it can handle the 24 hour inflation test.

The price can depend on the quality and amount of nylon fibers. Once the bladder is finished and it is ready to be transported to a store.
Once the basketballs lifespan is at its end and if it no longer serves its purpose, then it can be recycled in many ways. First, the shell can be removed and the rubber can be removed and the rubber can be recycled to create many rubber rubber products. On average, rubber takes 50-80 years to decompose. The nylon fabric found in the bladder can be recycled to make more nylon string or yarn. The bladder can not be recycled but can decompose in 30 yeas.
The rubber basketball is made from many different raw materials and takes several weeks to make. It is used constantly in sports and once its lifespan is over, it can be disposed in many ways, including recycling. This is the amazing lifecycle of a basketball.
