The Problem
Methods of waste segregation in the country include scavenging and manual sorting. These may pose as serious environmental and health threats and should be given action.

To design and fabricate a machine that is capable of solving the problem on waste segregation

There are 10 dump sites scattered across Metro Manila (as of 2006)
Current automated waste segregation machines are also expensive.

To be able to identify and sort PET Bottles, Aluminum Cans, Tin Cans and Glass Bottles
To attain a process speed of 5 seconds
To be attain a sorting accuracy of 90%
3-Phase Process
Powered by Electronic Actuators (Pneumatics)
Programmed using Arduino
1. Input – Entry of garbage into the machine
2. Sensing – Sensors detect the type of garbage loaded
3. Sorting – Garbage will be sent to the appropriate category bin after appraisal
