Going Solo
While performing on stage in the play "Mama Ama el Rock," Martin was noticed by a producer for Mexican T.V. Show (telenovella) "Alcanzar una Estrella" where he played Pablo Loredo
Music Progression
In May 2003, Ricky released another Spanish album, and the song "Tal Vez" became the most performed Latin single of the year

Born December 24th, 1971 in San Juan, Puerto Rico as Enrique Martin Morales
His parents divorced at two, and spent much time bouncing from house to house
Ricky began to find his love for music at six, imitating bands like Led Zeppelin, Journey, & REO Speed wagon, and singing with a wooden spoon
At nine, Ricky started to appear in commercials for fast food restaurants, pop, and even toothpaste
His First Big Break
In 1984, Ricky became a member of Puerto Rican boy band "Menudo" at thirteen after many failed attempts because of his height
Martin broke choreography rules on the first performance and was punished by the manager, and still carries that with him when he performs today
Ricky left Menudo in 1989 to per sue solo options for his career at seventeen
In 1990, he signed a record deal with Sony Discos (Latin Sony), and was so ecstatic he didn't read through the contract all the way through, and was locked into only receiving one cent of royalties for each album sold
In November 1991 Martin released his first album (in all Spanish) entitled "Ricky Martin
Promoting the Album Martin said was an "indescribable feeling"
Break on through to the English Side
Martin crossed from Spanish to English in 1999, releasing a self-titled album
On the Billboard 200 it was #1, and sold 661,000 copies within it's first week of release
Songs featured include "Be Careful (Cuidado con mi Corazón)" featuring Madonna, and the ever-popular Livin' La Vida Loca
This album, "Almas del Silencio" sold more than a million albums world wide and the single "Jaleo" topped Spain's charts for four weeks
Even Further Progression
In 2006 he released "Life" where he reflected a lot emotionally.
From 2006-2007 he went on MTV's Unplugged Tour
After a career break from 2007-2010, Martin has been active; he's written an autobiography, is a coach on The Voice (Australia), become vegetarian, and has guest starred on "Glee"
He has worked with the International Organization for Migration to help prevent human trafficking
Started the "Ricky Martin Foundation" to support children's well being world-wide.
He has twins Matteo and Valentino (through a surrogate) who are five, and trilingual!
