Potential and Kinetic energy Potential energy Kinetic Energy Kinetic energy is movement Potential energy is saved up energy Here, the boy is moving so he has kinetic energy. He is climbing the stairs, so he is saving up energy for when he goes down the slide. Once he is at the top of the slide he has lots of potential energy saved up from climbing to go down the slide. When the boy goes down the slide he is moving, so he has kinetic energy. He also has potential energy because he's saving it up for when he hits the water. Right before he hits the water he is going fastest and has kinetic energy because he is using all the potential energy he got in 3. B
