We find a dilation by counting the boxes on top (count dilation' first, and the original second) after counting the boxes on top, you count the boxes on the bottom. (Bottom = Width) (Top = height) Now, solve this. Count F'G and N'K and divide them. Count C'D and K'L and divide them. Were they equal?

Answer: Yes. But...what is a Dilation? A Dilation is a transformation that changes size, but not the shape. . . . . . . I see that some dilations have spme kind of point. What's this point called? That's called the center of dilation, some questions may ask you to find it. In order to find the center of dilation you must draw line that connect each pair of the vertices. This is what a problem asking about a center of dilation is like. Some questions ask you to find a 'scale factor' a scale factor is how much a figure is reduced or enlarged. This is fun! (Not really) Now here are some questions for you: Easy: Dilate this figure by a scale factor of 1.5, what are the vertices? Medium: Is it a dilation? Hint: All you need to show that the legs are proportional, is to show the ratios of their legs. An example of a scale factor question would be "Dilate this figure by scale factor five and find the vertices". In order to find a 'vertice' multiply the points by the scale factor. Now, here's a video to explain somethings before I give you more questions. Answer: A(-7.5,-7.5)

B(-3,9)

C(7.5,-4.5) Answer: Yes. Hint: A scale factor of zero or one reduces a figure. You've learned well, padawan. I hope you learned something today. THE END Do you get it?
