Both sides speak English.
Both sides had to turn on loved ones.
Both sides distrusted Indians.
Both sides had poor medical care.
Both sides wanted more land.
Both sides grew in their weapons.
Both sides only allow men to join the army.
All of the money in the South came from cash crops.
Slaves were an important part of their economy.
They were known as the Confederacy.
Cotton was grown everywhere in the South.
Agriculture was the center of their economy because it made need for more slaves.
Most of the Civil War was fought in the South.
They wanted to expand slavery.
They did not have as many factories as the North.
They had a lot less soldiers.
They wanted war.
They were known as the Union.
They wanted to abolish slavery.
The North had a big army which included many black soldiers.
They had lots of good equipment to fight with.
Instead of cash crops, they had more factories.
They wanted to weaken the south before attacking.
They had advanced railroads.
The North has a stronger navy.
They hoped for a peaceful end to slavery.
The government was sided with the North.
