Alectrona was the early Greek Goddess of the sun. She was worshipped in Rhodes. She became the daughter of Helios, the Titan lord of the sun, when classical myth came along. Alectrona was also known as the god of men's awakening. She is the supposed reason humans rise in the morning. Her name means rooster. Alectrona died a virgin. Rhodes is a Greek island in the Aegan Sea that has many temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses.
