Belfry Towers 0 + - = 9 8 7 1 2 3 4 5 6 c I hope your castle is safe and you can attack using this guide. Siege In a siege soldiers surround the castle so the people inside the castle would starve and if the people inside the castle went outside the castle they would get shot. And the people inside might just give up and the enemy could just capture the king and demand money for his return (That was called a ransom). Catapults A catapult was the deadliest weapon in the middle ages because it hurled large rock at the castle walls or even inside the castle. So if you had a catapult you wouldn’t even have to go into the castle to attack it. Catapults were very useful but very hard to use because could you imagine trying to lift a huge boulder onto the launching pad! Battering Rams Battering rams were very useful for smashing down walls and doors. Battering rams were like a little tent with a bid log inside pushed by strong men. It was rolled on wheels to the enemy’s castle. Ladders If an enemy wanted to get into the castle unseen he might use a ladder. The usually made the ladder out of wood so the attacker could carry it. The way this worked was the attacker lay the ladder on the castle wall then he would climb up it Fire Arrows Fire arrows were a good way to attack a motte and baily castles because the flame would easily burn down the walls and gave the attackers a clear path into the castle. Ways to Attack a Castle Hi have you ever wondered what it was like 900 years ago, during the medieval times. All the wars, battles and the crusades were a very important part of history. All the attacks and battles all started with a plan, I’m going to tell you the strategy’s they used to attack a castles. The way these worked was the archers took a dry cloth covered in ale and wrapped it around the arrow head. Then he would set it on fire with flint and a rock and shoot into the castle or the castle wall. A great way to defend against fire arrows is to put water on the fire before it has time to spread but a bad point of the fire arrow is that the archer can catch on fire. It was very hard to defend against battering rams because they are big but if you shoot a fire arrow at it, it will probably catch on fire. Even though battering rams were very useful but they had one flaw, the wall or door may fall on top of it! + = flint and steel arrow wrapped in cloth fire arrow The best way to defend against battering rams is to barricade the walls and doors. The best castle to attack with a battering ram would be a stone castle. The bad thing about ladders is that a castle guard could easily push the ladder over. . The best way to defend against castles is to obviously to tip the ladder over. The best castle to attack with a ladder is a stone castle. The belfry towers are usually called siege towers. It was used to defend the attackers from arrows. Sometimes it was rolled up to the enemy’s castle wall. The soldiers would be hiding in it would climb out onto the castle walls, and then they would go and attack the enemy. to defend against belfry towers is to shoot a fire arrow at it because Belfry towers were made out of wood so one fire arrow would burn it down easily killing the soldiers inside of it. The best castle to attack with a belfry tower is a stone castle. I bet your thinking “HOW AM I GOING TO DEFEND AGAINST CATAPULTS” well there is a way to, simply fire another catapult at it. The best castle to attack with a catapult would be a stone castle. The attackers would sometimes mine underneath the castle walls to get into the castles. And if some people got into the castle already by using a ladder then they can start digging from inside the castle. The bad thing about mining is that the castle walls could fall on top of the mineshaft’s and kill many miners. Mineing The best way to defend against mining is to surround the hole with archers so when the attackers come out of the hole they will get shot. The best castle to attack with mining is a motte and baily castles because the stone castles have moats and if the miners mine into the moat the tunnel would flood. The best way to defend against mining is to surround the hole with archers so when the attackers come out of the hole they will get shot. The best castle to attack with mining is a motte and baily castles because the stone castles have moats and if the miners mine into the moat the tunnel would flood. If your under siege than I suggest shooting the attackers with arrows and fire arrows. BY MAX
