Military expedition
A military expedition is exclusive to the military no civilians can part-take in the extreme activity that is being carried out. This type of expedition is funded by the military only and is usually something very extreme.

cooperate expedition
A cooperate expedition is a place where they supply everything to try and build a team and in force better leadership within the cooperation. Also most of the time will only go out on expeditions for self-interest.
Aim- Business send their employees on a team building expedition usually to improve their leadership skills, by trying to get them to work as a team. Also they want to see peoples strengths and weaknesses and to see if that person best fits the job or if they should be in another line of work.

Individual expedition
An individual expedition is done by one person and is sometimes funded by an organizations or is done to raise awareness for sometimes, for example, a charity. This type of expedition can also be done to raise money as well.

There are four different types of expedition that people can do, for example there is corporate, military, group individual, each one has been clearly explained on who can participate in each expedition. there are also examples of the expeditions as well that i have provided.
what are the differences and similarities of the expeditions
.

Similarities (group and individual)
funding
sponsorship
run by famous people
do to things at once (raise money and raise awareness for a cause)
linked to well known person to promote the expedition.
both get more publicity
Differences (cooperation and military)
cooperation done to help build team work
military fitness level is a lot higher
no one but military or retired military can do the expeditions
only people from the company can do the cooperation
military is government funded
cooperation is company funded
promote team cohesion within the company in cooperation expeditions
Example- mark wood expedition
Mark wood wanted to attempt to be the first person in history to ski solo, unsupported and unaided to both the south Geographic and the north Geographic polls consecutively. The total journey, including the training transitional period, was three months of Antarctica ice and Arctic sea ice.
Example- Ewan Mcgregor and Charley Bourman expedition
Aim- In 2004 Ewan and Charley embarked on an epic Long Way Round challenge, to bike 20,000-miles, cross 12 countries and 19 time zones in just 115 days.

Result of what they did- Riding their BMW GS R1200s, they crossed Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia to ride the Road of Bones through Siberia, over to Alaska, through Canada, North America and finished in New York. Ewan and Charley also helped to raise awareness for the vital UNICEF projects they visited along the way.

Example- Ben Saunders polar expedition in 2003 and The British Services Antarctic Expedition in 2012

The aims were also different, because Army men had team building and raising money for charity organization aim while Ben’s main aim was to explore and achieve the record.

Example- BDC UPS Expedition in Wales and Virgin Atlantic staff to Nairobi Mountain Kenya
Some of the aims were also the same like building team cohesion and challenging their abilities, but the rest of them are different. The Public Services students had lots of different activities, but one of them was similar which was hiking. This was the form of which Virgin Atlantic staff did their expedition in Nairobi.
