Transcript of Symbols Of Society

BY: Michelle, Genaro, Fatima & Jodie SYMBOLS OF SOCIETY The four photographs that we chose out of thirty-two, are interconnected through a single word and share a common theme and concept. #1 The image shown above, is the known bookstore and stationery place, Indigo. BY examining this image, we are able to figure out a variety of things. For instance: Indigo is encouraging costumers a taste of whats inside the store and showing viewers that inspiration, imagination and creativity matters to the employees, and they want to show costumers that they wont regret their visit to the store. Indigo is encouraging costumers a taste of whats
inside the store and showing viewers that inspiration,
imagination and
creativity matters to the employees, and they
want to show costumers that they wont
regret their visit to the store. A.) B.) The company sells products such as snacks, books and mainly stationery items that help enhance people's imagination, creativity and inspiration in life.

Also, the text on top show that it has books, music and
that it's a cafe indirectly relating them to imagination, inspiration and creativity which books and music all have #2 By examining this photo, we have learned that: This sign promotes a clean and good environment Encourages individuals to not litter and be alert of their surroundings Gives out a positive message
for people
who
are in public area such as a
school, a street and
mainly a park. It gives people the message and helps promote an eco friendly lifestyle. #3 Some of the observations that we have found are:

- the location of the picture id DT Toronto and it is full of billboards.

-It is visible at night to see ads

-it is very bright colorful and eyecatching on buildings. #4 In this image, the Mayor of Calgary shows his pride for his hometown as he proudly wears the Calgary Stampeder's underneath his eyes. This image is very influential
& encouraging Calgarians to support their home team because the stampeders are
a big deal here. This billboard also advertises the prices of the season tickets and they are using Mayor Nenshi as a bait for Calgarians. NOW It's time to play 4 PICS 1 WORD! PROMOTE!!! These four images connects to the idea of promotion. These photographs promote a variety of things towards the public in the form of signs, ads and billboards. The first image exhibits the company's slogan which is, “Creativity, imagination and inspiration.” This suggests that by buying their products, we would enhance our abilities to be creative, imaginative and inspired due to the fact that the retail sells books and stationery.

Similarly, the second image features the same concept but in an environmental manner, as it sends a message to people publicly. - The third and fourth image with the city lights and the billboard, both show advertisements and the location is clustered with advertisements.

-In conclusion, the four photographs both show the idea of promoting and the concept of advertising. They show this in a variety of ways, but still deliver the same conception.
