General description
tropical rainforests are all over the world and they cover about 7% of the earth's surface. Most tropical rainforests can usually be found in south America in Brazil. Tropical rainforests weather is rainy all year round. The average temperature in a tropical rainforest is between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. the average amount of precipitation is 50 to 260 inches per year. common natural disasters in a tropical rainforest are fires, droughts, and storms. major damage can be done to the tropical rainforests and it happens on a random basis.

the soil is very low in minerals. it is very shallow and poor in nutrients. Insects, bacteria, and fungi work as to break down dead plants and animals. root mats hold 99% of the nutrients in the rainforest.
