Compare and Contrast: Aladdin and Monkey's Paw Introduction Sometimes people can get caught up in greed and can ask for objects like money and glory. What would happen if they actually were granted wishes? Would their wishes change and would they be greedy? In two well-written stories, “Aladdin” by Disney and “Monkey’s Paw” by W. W. Jacobs, the author incorporates three wishes, but the characters may or may not make the best choices. In the stories, there will be numerous comparisons and contrasts. Aladdin contains a genie, three wishes, and a boy making the choices in Arabia. Monkey’s Paw contains a small family, a cursed talisman, and greed. Characters in the story wish for different things, yet end up in a similar situation. Differences and similarities are plentiful between these two stories.
