The University of Maryland is the home place of the Turfs. Testudo, their mascot is a diamondback terrapin, and has been their mascott for over 60 years and still is today. Athletics Basketball

Volleyball The University of Maryland is located in Prince George's County in Marland. The college contains over 90,000 students worldwide, making it the largest college in Maryland. UMUC offers 120 academic programs which include, bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees, and undergraduate/graduate certificates. FACILITIES & CENTERS The University of Maryland has many athletic/sports teams. Along with the ones mentioned, they sponsor 25 men and women's sports. Their athletic teams have won 38 national championships by the NCAA(National Collegiate Athletic Association), USILA(The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association) , AIAW(Association for Intercollegiate Men and Women), and NCA(National Cheerleaders Association). In 2008 and 2010, they University of Maryland' s athletic teams were named the best in the nation by the Princeton Review. Their school athletic colors are white, red, black, and gold.
