C Block Location Absolute Location: 15 N, 48 E Relative Location: Yemen is bordering the Arabian Sea, Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea. Yemen is South of Saudi Arabia and Southwest of Oman. Yemen is a part of Southwest Asia and the Middle East. Being part of the Arabian Speaking world ties Yemen to other countries around it such as Saudi Arabia and Oman. Yemen Place The climate of Yemen is arid and semiarid, with a hot and humid coast. The highest point in is Mount Nabi Shu'ayb at 3,760 meters above sea level. The lowest point is the Arabian Sea at 0 meters above sea level. The official language in Yemen is Arabic. The vegetation is desert and desert scrub. The citizens of Yemen are called Yemeni(s). The population of people is 23,495,631. 18 years is the suffrage for voting. Place Yemen is one of the poorest Arab states. The kidnapping of tourists have significantly reduced tourism. "Al-Salam 'alaykum" means peace be with you in Arabic. That is a phrase that greetings usually begin with. The literacy rate in Yemen is 50.2% of the citizens over 15 can read and write.
