Transcript of Should Sea World keep Killer Whales in Captivity?

Pros and Cons
Pros:
great impact on children. Shows them the beauty of not only the ocean and its creatures but so for all animals in general.
promotes people to learn more about Killer Whales
Cons:
killer whales are captured young and taken from their families.
killer whales are confined to a limited space when they are designed to swim hundreds of miles each day in the ocean
when killer whales are placed in the same tank, they lash out in aggression towards each other
keeping killer whales in tanks activates their "different energy levels" causing them to feel stressed and frustrated
keeping killer whales in captivity is also dangerous for the trainers (there have been multiple deaths and injuries)
For or Against?
Sea World should not keep Killer Whales in captivity. Killer whales are placed in tanks when they are used to swimming for hundreds of miles each day. This causes them to lash out in aggression upon each other and on human trainers.Sea World needs to consider that killer whales are animals, and they deserve to live within their natural habitat. Although Sea World killer whales show people their majestic beauty, the negative aspects of keeping killer whales in tanks outweigh the positives.
