Later when he went solo , he received many awards . He is in the " Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame . "
Eric is married to a woman named Melia . The couple was married on January 1st , 2002 . Before he married Melia , he married his first wife named Pattie Boyd Harrison on March 27 , 1979 . They had no children and divorced in 1989 . He has 3 daughters named Julia Rose Clapton , Ella Mae Clapton , and Sophie Clapton . There son name Conor died on March 20th 1991 . He fell from a window in his mother's apartment in New York City . When his son died , the song " Tears in Heaven " was about his son which featured his " Unplugged " album .
How does Eric's environment
shape music creation ?
Eric was raised in a musical household . His grandmother played the piano and his uncle and Eric's mother both enjoyed listening to big bands . His father was a gifted musician and Bert Weedon taught Eric to play guitar .
Eric spent his days exploring music around Richmond and Kingston . He also spent this time in London .
Eric Clapton was born on March 30th 1945 in his grandparents home at The Green Ripley Surrey , England . He was the son of Patricia Molly Clapton and Edward Walter Fryer . It was hard for some 16 year-old to be taking care of a baby so Patricia's parents Rose and Jack Clapp stepped in and raised Eric as thier own .

Eric Clapton loved the American Blues . He always said it was different than from the other people's taste in music . He thinks its unique and never gets tired of hearing the sound of the American Blues .

In October 1963 , Keith Relf and Paul Samwell-Smith wanted him to join and become a member of The Yardbirds . 18 monthes with The Yardbirds , Eric earned his nickname " The SlowHand . " and recorded there first album called : First Live Yardbird and Sonny Boy Williamson and the Yardbirds . The band also recorded a hit single called " Good Morning Little School Girl . " When The Yardbirds began to do a commercial for " For Your Love . " , Eric quited
By playing the blues , he applied techniques that is known around the world and is affected around the world .
