Why a public mental health approach?

Public mental health interventions:

reduce the impact of mental disorder and poor wellbeing (and produce a broad range of benefits associated with improved wellbeing)
deliver large economic savings and benefits
reduce health and social inequalities
help achieve parity of mental health with physical health
support the delivery of a broad range of outcomes
achieve all this by drawing on key intelligence
