By: Panic! At The Disco Analysis by Julia
Niedzwiecka The song "Northern Downpour" expresses
many perceptions on struggles, emotional attachments, hope, and the value of life. I am really glad that I had chosen to analyze and look into this song, for it has given me new insight and it opened a window to new perspectives. And as I stand here speaking to you, and looking back at the song, how can such a simple song speak to so many people and change the way they look at the world? The hardest stanza to analyze 'The ink is running toward the page
It's chasin' off the days
Look back at boat feet
And that winding knee
I missed your skin when you were east
You clicked your heels and wished for me'
I chose the song "Northern Downpour" for the following
reasons: "Northern Downpour" Why "Northern Downpour"? Personally, I think this song is about taking life for granted, a lost love, and a few other random topics that may have effected the lives of the writiers. I also interpreted that the song conveys the importance of living life to its fullest, and taking chances. Although the message is very subliminal, which makes this song quite remarkable, "Northern Downpour" has universal lyrics that can broaden the emotional horizons of unique individuals in countless amounts of ways. Favorite Line "If all our life is but a dream, fantastic posing greed
Then we should feed our jewelry to the sea
For diamonds do appear to be
Just like broken glass to me"

Time has gone by since the two lovers separated, and they are looking back on that. The girl thinks of all the good times they shared and she just wishes that the boy would return to her. My interpretation:
