Alex Rodriguez on the list for using HGH. This proves that Arod is a liar. He claimed he only did steroids for two years and spoke against it. This will ruin his chances at the Hall of Fame now. He could be suspended, they are investigating it. He will be out for awhile anyways with his hip injury. He is also signed for another five more years. It will cause the Yankees to lose a lot of money if they try to opt out of his contract.

Super Bowl Week. Knicks played very little defense against Atlanta. They are only a game away from the Heat. Knicks are not a championship team. JR Smith cost his team the game. Knicks scored 86 points. They are a long way off from winning the championship. They play like they are playing playground basketball. When they win it's fun, Carmelo scores a lot of points. Saturday's game was embarrassing. "You have to win all the games you have to win," Tyson Chandler. Things that go on the court is mind boggling. Boomer and Carton were watching the game like what is wrong with them. The ball didn't go in the hoop, they all look at the referees. All they do is complain. Carmelo slams the ball down due to a cheap technical, there is always drama. They have no chance to beat the Celtics. Brief overview of what could have been for the Giants and what happend to Eli Manning. Islanders and the Devils lost. "Rangers won, someone must be happy."
Rajon Rando out for the season, he found out during the game against Miami. It was also the Lakers best win of the year. Lakers have been very tough to beat. Carmelo Anthony also had a good game. Super Week: 14th Super Bowl together for Mike and Mike. New Orleans, this is where they love the Super Bowl to be. It is a walking Super Bowl with the streets blocked off. Going back to the first Monday night game after hurricane Katrina walking the streets and the people of New Orleans told Mike and Mike to tell their listeners that they are all doing okay. This is the10th Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Mark Teshera, no way he can play baseball this season no guarantee, he has another interest. Joe Flacco- Jersey boy. Super Bowl in New Jersey's Met Life stadium is retarded. Boomer and Carton says he shouldn't say that word he should say stupid and then people get crazy and overreact. Joe Flacco then becomes "the worst guy in the world." Joe Flaco is a nice guy, what you want in a Quarterback. If he wouldn't have used that word he would have been better off. He needs to apologize, he made a mistake. NY Jets has taken on a new level of ridiculousness. There are conversations about bringing Jamarcus Russell in for a tryout. Potentionally signing him to be Mark Sanchez's backup Quaterback. He is working out with Mark Sanchez, no chance that this could happen. That is not the kind of person the Jets need, it will be a circus if they decide to bring him. There are so many people that are Quarterback starved. Is there ever going to be a real backup for Sanchez?
Friday before the Super Bowl. Super Bowl practicing, they are ready to play a football game. Mike and Mike covered the January 1993 Super Bowl, there were only 6 or 7 radio shows there. Now at a game there are 150 radio shows. There might have been 4 doing radio in the different areas, now so much more. Joe Flacco is a franchise Quarterback with franchise money. Someone like that is hard to find. Joe Flacco on his contract; never concerned all good thoughts. They believe he has earned it. He has been a very good regular season Quarterback. He has a lot of time left to go. Other elite players like Flacco would be Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Payton Manning who put up ridiculous numbers. He outplayed Payton Manning and Tom Brady. He started out in 2008. Flacco says, "do your job on the field." He is worth 50 million guaranteed dollars.
34-31 Ravens win the Super Bowl, touchdown, Ravens win. Recap of the last few plays in the Super Bowl. Super Bowl 47 called "Lights Out," 30 minute delay. It turned out to be an extraordinary football game. "Two Super Bowls for the price of one." If San Francisco would have won everyone would have been talking about how the black out caused them to come back. It would have been their fault. "If you allow your focus to get away during the Super Bowl because of a power out, shame on you," Mike says.
Yankees cannot win 85 games, there is no way. CC Sabathia does not comment on the Arod issue but hopes to have his teammate back soon. Arod has had 2 operations in 9 months. The question is.. can a player come back after that and do good in the game or do they go downhill? The answers were indifferent. The bio clinic investigation with Anthony Bosch is still in the process. "We will meet a hot babe and see if she knows any sports."
Lakers' Gasol out indefinitely with torn plantar fascia in foot during the defeat over the Brooklyn Nets. College football signing day yesterday. Robert Nkemdiche signed with Mississippi. Soccor World Cup, the United States lost. American football getting some headlights in the off season. Football never slaves. NFL, free agencies and teams need to make decisions soon. Omar Bradshaw heartbroken for leaving his family (team). The Giants cut him due to the salary cap. The last time you clean out your locker the team is going to be difficult. The NFL want to go with the younger, want to sign that big deal. The team is going to watch you to see what you are going to do on the field. It's all based on dollars and cents. Players want to be looked at but at the end of the year they don't want it to be them getting drafted because they are a good way to save money. They want to go for the big money but, this is the tough part of it. Kerry Williams turned down a three year 50 million dollar deal, he may not get that on the open market. Every athlete knows when they sign the contracts, the back end of the deal may come back to haunt you.
Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant don't like each other. The end is near for Kobe. Dwight isn't worried about his next contract. If someone was coming into the last year of his contract and he was up for renewal and he was getting hurt would his teammates understand? Kobe thinks that Howard is saving himself to keep from going into the contract situation. Some people think that Howard will make a come back.
Would have to look at Arod's entire career as a hoax. Ray Lewis was accused of using a substitution for steroids. Will play in the Super Bowl, however. Arod hired an attorney to help him. Arod is exploring ways to avoid the last 5 years with over 14 million dollars. Russell Wilson on the set today. He has such an enormous athleticism and the ability to run with the football. Discussion that it is not true that a Quarterback can come straight out of college, you need someone who can throw first. The Quarterback is getting smashed in the chest but they are the future for the team for the next 10 years. They need to put the Quarterback out of harms way. Russell always knows there is gonna be risk for the football team. Mike and Mike say he is an impressive person to talk to. Wilson played professional baseball too, he already knew the professional atmosphere going in. He was used to it. He was told he was too short but didn't let it stop him because of his love for the game. He wants to be the best one day. Pepsi Max Finalist Rookie of the Year.
Final Friday before they can't talk about football anymore. Yes they love basketball and the Rangers "suck." They are waiting for Arod to pass another steroid test. Penguins lost 3 out of 4 games, can't get themselves out of a hole. Craziness is New Orleans. The Yankees find a legit way out of his contract but, Arod says through a source that he is not retiring. He is looking foward to coming back for another 5 years with the Yankees a cloud over them today with Arod and last Friday of football. Beyonce sang during the Super Bowl conference yesterday. She killed it. It was the best way to get rid of what happen at the Inauguration. She looked great. It was not just the singing it was the comments she made afterward. She talked about what it means to her about going to New Orleans with hurricane Katrina. "When a beautiful women starts talking I don't hear what they say." "When she sings I hear." "When they start talking sports I don't hear what they say." "Blah blah blah...take out the garbage."
LeBron James is the best shooting guard of his career. Joe Flacco got the most frequent flyer miles as the MVP does. Who wins next year's Super Bowl and why? Mike and Mike were saying that if you lose the Super Bowl next year you don't even make the playoffs. Russell Wilson going into his second year. Well established or great Quarterbacks include Payton Manning, Tom Brady and Joe Flacco proved to be awesome this season. Joe Flacco's contract discussion is next. He will make a whole lot of money. Finally, the numbers say that the 49ers were not robbed of the Super Bowl.

Little to no coverage on women's lacrosse on all 3 platforms.
No coverage on women's basketball on radio or television.
Women are not portrayed as athletes on radio or television, but rather as sex symbols.
Li Na and Victoria Azarenka will be competing with each other in the Women's final at the Australia Open. However, there is controversy for Azarenka on how she got there with her straight set victory over American Sevane Stephens. Azarenka had lost her serve to Stephens. For the change of ends, Azarenka went to her seat and wrapped a towel stuffed with ice around her neck. She was examined by a doctor and was taken off the court for more treatment. This was Stephens first grand slam semifinal and she was now left waiting to serve to stay in the match. When Azarenka returned to the court the overall break was approximately 10 minutes. Medical timeouts are permitted but the timing of the break is in question and it is being viewed as potential gamesmanship.
Massapequa is still unbeatable after its game with Uniondale on 1/25. Massapequa's all-round threat, Morgan Roessler, couldn't play because she had the flu. That didn't stop Massapequa from beating Uniondale 56-46. Lauren Van Buren had 19 points and 17 rebounds and Melanie Hengher, who started in Roessler's place, had 17 points and 11 rebounds. Massapequa's coach said "Controlling the boards was huge and everyone stepped up."

Bayport-Blue Point's Bailey Walker made her season debut in both the 55-meter hurdles and the triple jump at the Suffolk League V Championship at Suffolk CC-Brentwood. The senior won both her debut events. She also won the long jump, an event she has competed in this year. Under classman have been "given a blueprint for what they need to do to succeed," says their coach Vin Ungaro. Call it the Bayport-Blueprint.
St. Mary's showed balance on both ends of the court scoring 15 points in the first five minutes of the game yesterday. St. Mary's is 9-0. This is due to the dominance in the paint of Jordan Agustus, defense and hustle of Jasmine Bryant and Mckayla Hernandez and the impressive ball skills of Mei-Lyn Bautista. St. Mary's forward Jordan Augusts said, "we're a defensive team and our hard work payed off." Candance Belvedere scored a game high of 14 points for Kellenberg, but it wasn't enough to beat St. Mary's. Final score: St. Mary's 67, Kellenberg 43.
This was going to be an important game, Smithtown East vs. Smithtown West. Pointguard Savannah Miller, West, said "to beat them and get a playoff spot in the process is special. It's always been intense between us." Miller had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals to lead West. Sharon Bossert's layup took the lead late with a steal along the baseline and a fast break to create the final margin. Bossert took two years off from basketball to play volleyball. However, she loved basketball too much not to play. Smithtown West's coach Katie Combs said, "Bossert's a true basketball player and thank God for that. "

Anything worth while in life is achieved by alot of hard work. Cheerleading may soon be more recognized as a varsity sport. Why? It's because of the hard working efforts of many talented high school squads who put forth countless hours of practice perfecting their routines. Mepham won its second ever tournament capturing the coed title in the first state high school cheerleading championship. They are part of a national effort with many other high schools across the state in the effort to make cheerleading more recognized as a varsity sport. Mempham will compete in the national championship in Orlando. By winning the state championship in its inaugural year is a great step for them. Coaches spent years of petitioning to have cheerleading deemed a varsity sport and The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYPHSAA), created a committee three years ago. An agreement was reached with the state to have the state tournament serve as a pilot of sorts, said coordinator Marcha Tessler, and its continuance would depend on the event's success.
Sara Takanashi of Japan was the overall leader and local favorite but was upstaged by Coline Mattel of France who won her second World Cup ski jump of the season. On her first attempt, Mattel landed a jump of 93 meters (approximately 300 feet) for 120.2 points. This season, Takanashi had won four World Cup events, but finished 13th after a jump of 85 meters and 99.1 points.

Sri Lanka Shakes Up Women's Cricket World Cup by Huw Richards
The New York Times, online article
Out of eight competitors in a world championship tournament, Sri Lanka was considered the weakest. However, in one of the biggest upsets in the 40 years of Women's World cup cricket, Sri Lanka beat India's highly rated team and knocked them out of the tournament. As a result, Sri Lanka will play in the Super Six playoffs and India will play for seventh place against Pakistan.
For two matches in a row, Savannah Viola put the Tologs ahead and her goal gave Flintridge Sacred Heart the victory to keep them in the Mission League title hunt. Flintridge SH ranked 9 in CIF-SS Division 1, was able to knock out the then top-ranked and now number 3 Harvard-Westlake. Next, the tologs will compete against Chaminade for the regular season finale.
The Lady Rams earned their first playoff spot in nearly a decade. They are backed by solid defense and timely scoring and overall are 9-5. The previous week they beat Roosevelt, 43-31. This was their fourth consecutive win. Their head coach, Chris Van Kovics is extremely happy with their growth.
