Letterland is a phonics-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling.
Letterland characters are child-friendly pictograms
Stories about the Letterland characters, explain phonics facts so that children are motivated to listen, to think and to learn.
Stories explain letter sounds & shapes
Allows children to progress quickly to word building, reading and writing.
Read to Self
Read to Someone
Work on Writing
Word Work
Listen to Reading
Rotations
5 rotations & Work with Teacher
20 minutes for each rotation
Meet with lower level students EVERYDAY (sometimes twice)
Mini-Lessons
3 mini-lessons each day
15 minutes
Lessons to teach reading strategies/skill, writing skill, phonics/Letterland skill
