Transcript of Copy of Identifying Theme

Understanding and Identifying THEME Definition: Things to Consider: It is the underlying meaning of a text. It is a lesson or observation about life and human nature that the writer shares with the reader. The theme is always about some universal human experience (something in life that all people will one day encounter). **Theme doesn’t just apply to these characters or this book. It’s more abstract than that. It’s an idea that applies to you, me, everyone.
