THE ENERGY CRISIS
The Environment
BY: Emily W. Serafina M. Elizabeth E.
Some types of man made
natural Disasters are:
Oil Spills
Oil Fires
Nuclear Leaks
The Gulf War, 1991 (Kuwait)

240 to 336 million gallons spilled
1
Ixtoc 1 Oil Well, 1979 ( Bay of Campeche, Mexico)
2
140 million gallons spilled
3
Nowruz Oil Field, 1983 (Persian Gulf)
80 million gallons spilled

In Guam
In the rainforest
In Brazil
OVER POPULATION
America and countries all over the world have become over populated leading to dumping waste, water depletion, and food shortages.
Urban air pollution
Most populated countries

A Fact about Starvation
Untreated sewage
Water Is Disappearing
Every day leaky faucets and toilets, sprinklers and hoses waste thousands gallons.
Pharmaceutical
Pollution
Along with climate change and the earth heating up our fresh water is disappearing.
Greenhouse gasses
Lead
poisoning
Agricultural pollution
Mercury poisoning
Oil Spills
People are starting to realize we need our trees and the rainforest gives us 40% of our clean oxygen. Many organizations are trying to aid in the replanting of trees including the World Wildlife Fund.
FIXING DEFORESTATION
FIXING POLLUTION
Pollution and chemicals in water sources and leeching into foods has been a problem for a while, but now people are starting to worry that these chemicals could have catastrophic results
4
Castillo de Bellver, 1983 (Off Saldanha Bay, South Africa)
Fixing over population
Over population is not a black and white topic when people say fix they mean to get rid of people, but that is obviously not a viable option. Some ways we could remedy this having government policy or available sexual healthcare.
78.5 million Gallons Spilled
Plastics
Nuclear Explosions

To fix the energy crisis people have stopped the flaring and burning of natural gas, pulling large oil companies out of the gulf, promoting demand response tech, leaving the emergency oil reserve alone, combining heat and power systems for other energy sources.
Texas City Disaster (1947)
1
Killed roughly 600 people
and injured roughly 3,500

(Generally considered the worst
industrial accident in U.S.
history.)
2
Halifax Explosion (1917)
Roughly 2,000 people were killed and 9,000 injured
(It remains the
world's largest artificial
accidental explosion.)
FIXING THE ENERGY CRISIS
MAN MADE NATURAL DISASTERS
To begin man made natural disasters are created for many different reasons. Government weapons testing, trying to create viable energy sources, or getting needed resources to processing plants. To fix the problem we need to have stricter regulations on where testing can happen, better checks of factories of where dangerous substances are processed, and smarter transportation methods.
HOW TO FIX THE DROUGHT
HAVE PEOPLE FIXED OUR ENVIRONMENT YET?
OVERPOPULATION
To fix the drought people are trying to conserve water by not using as much for basic thing such as brushing your teeth, and watering their lawn. They are also have also been more careful about what plants they put in their yard and educating people about the drought to let them know how to conserve.
WATER
POLLUTION
MAN MADE NATUR DISASTERS
DEFORESTATION
People have not yet fixed the energy crisis we are still in the middle of it. But many people have hope it will end in 2025
We have still not fixed the overpopulation problem. Natural resources have been depleted and can not be restored. Although overpopulation could start to be fixed with policies.
People haven't fixed the deforestation problem yet they are working on it. They hope to reforest areas such as the rainforest and Soulth Africa in the future but there is a lot of work to be done so it will probely take a wile to fix the problem.
