Transcript of Physical Properties of Matter

design by Dóri Sirály for Prezi
Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. It can be a solid, liquid or gas.
The temperature when a liquid substance boils and turns into a gas.
What is matter:
Is the capability of an object being soluble or dissolved at a given amount of solvent.
Soluble
: Able to dissolve in a liquid
Solvent
: can be a liquid dissolving to another substance
Malleability
Boiling Point

Thermal Conductivity is the ability to transfer thermal Energy (heat) to something else.
Thermal Conductivity
How shiny an object is or how much something reflects the light.

Physical Properties
Are properties that can be observed or measured without changing the object.
Thermal Cup
Metal
Electrical Conductivity
Is the measure of the amount of
electrical current, the flow of
electrical charge a material can
support.

Density
Is the measure of mass/weight of a substance or an object.
Melting Point
The temperature at which a solid becomes a liquid by melting.
Magnetic Attraction
Solubility
Is the capability of an object being stretched or shaped into something different then its usual shape, using pressure.
Chemical Properties
Are properties that can be seen during a chemical reaction.
A good way to remember physical properties is by remembering:
Formula
Clay

Attraction for iron dealing with
electrical current's and magnets.
( A force in which an object is attracted by another object.)
