Welcome to BTEC Level 3
Applied Law

The Level 3 Certificate is equivalent to an AS and comprises of 3 units over 1 year.
The Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma is equivalent to an A level and comprises of 6 units over 2 years.
Nine lessons per fortnight.

The Level 3 Certificate (AS) comprises of the following 3 units:
Unit 1: Dispute Solving in the Legal System
Unit 2: Understanding Law Making
Unit 3: Aspects of Legal Liability
To obtain the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma (A level),
the following additional 3 units will be covered:
Unit 4: Unlawful Homicide and Police Powers
Unit 5: Aspects of Property Offences and Police Powers
Unit 8: Aspects of the Law of Tort

Units 1, 2 and 3 are mandatory units.
All units are worth 10 credits.

How to do well in this subject
Work hard both during and outside lesson time
Think positive – this is a fresh start.
Have 100% attendance
Be punctual to all lessons and ready to work
Be organised - submit all coursework/homework on time
Take responsibility for your own learning.
