THC is a cannabinoid- interferes with the normal functioning of the endocannabinoid system

Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: brain, organs, connective tissue, glands, and immune cells
Our bodies actually make chemicals very similar to THC, which are used in normal brain function and development.
