What is the Immune System?
The Immune System is what keeps you and me from getting sick. Without it we would die very quickly. This system also protects our body from foreign substances as well as pathogenic organisms.
Structure of the Immune System
What is the basic structure or composition of this system that is one of the main reasons we can live care free from day to day? The Immune system is made of several different systems including bone marrow, lymph nodes, thymus, etc.
What is the Circulatory System?
This system is truly deserving of it's name. It circulates blood and lymph through the body on a daily basis easily maintaining homeostasis.
Structure of the Circulatory System
The circulatory stem is composed of several different parts all around the body including consisting of the heart, blood vessels, blood, lymph, and the lymphatic vessels and glands.
How do these two work together?
One way these two powerhouses work together is the classification of bad cells. The Immune System recognizes them then calls upon the circulatory system to send white blood cells to deal with the problem. Another way these two systems work together is the fact that their sole job is to keep the organism alive. The circulatory system provides important nutrients and resources to the body whereas the immune system keeps pathogens and other foreign bodies out of the body. These two systems go together like peanut butter and jelly, completely different and amazing things but if you combine them together you get something incredible.
Systems are individual parts coming together as a collective to serve a specific propose. When one of these parts fail, the whole system does. The same could be said about the bone marrow in the Immune System. This protective system is composed of several different parts, but take bone marrow out, one propose being the production of red blood cells, and the whole system caves, rendering it inert.
What if Homeostasis is not maintained?
Homeostasis is the cornerstone for all of the bodies processes. It is the key to success in the body, and without it, everything goes haywire. Two of many things that could fail are the ability for cells to maintain themselves, resulting in cellular rupture. This could easily lead to thousands of different complications such as cancer, easy sickness, and probable death.
