The radio was a very big invention during the 1920 and 30s. It made life much easier for people who could afford it. They could listen to the news before the news paper came . They could also listen to hockey games without going to the game The price of an average radio at that time was $150.
Scotch tape was invented in the 1930s in St Paul's Minnesota. It is one of the invention that has not changed very much since the 1920s.
The Lie Detector
The lie detector was invented in 1921 by John Larson. The lie detector was able to detect changes in blood pressure and the change in pulse.
The first successful helicopter was made by Igor Sikorsky. The helicopter was called Sikorsky R4. The R4 was the only helicopter used by the US during WWII.The Sikorsky company still makes many of the greatest military helicopters for the US. Other helicopter companies include Bell, Boeing and AugustaWestland.
The refrigerator was invented in 1913 by Nathaniel Wales. With the refrigerator people did not have to buy food every single day, instead they could buy food once a week and the food would stay fresh all week. The price of a fridge was about $700.

The Tommy Gun was invented by Brigadier General John T. Thompson in 1920. It was used in many different wars including both of the world wars,Vietnam war an d many more wars. About 2,000,000 Tommy guns have been produced since 1920
The band-aid was invented by Earle Dickson a Johnson & Johnson employee, for his accident prone wife who always cut herself. He put a piece of gauze on tape and made the first band-aid.When Dickson showed it to his boss his boss was impressed and started mass production of the product.During WWII millions were sent to Europe to help soldiers.
The Jeep was made by the Jeep company for the US army. It was fast and could go off road . The Jeep was later replaced by the Humvee which was more armored.
The Photo Copier
The photocopier was invented by Chester Carlson in 1938.The photocopier makes life much easier because now people do not have to copy everything by hand.
