Welcome to Mrs. North's
& Mrs. Brunotte's Class
Our Educational Philosophy
Our Teaching Methods
Switches: Our hectic day
Social Studies- Every day with Mrs. Kutcher and Mrs. Brunotte.
Health- Social/emotional with Mrs. Kutcher. The body systems with Mrs. Guiral. Mrs. Troiani will teach about drugs & alcohol. Boys go to Mr. Reinhold for family life. Girls are with us and Ms. Fleming.
Specials- Every day, during fifth period, before lunch. Phys. Ed, Music, Art, Media, Phys. Ed (wear sneakers)
Accelerated Math/Resource Classes- This replaces Math, Reading and Language Arts with the homeroom
Speech, Band, OT, PT- Students go during class. They should learn their schedule, and ask for missed work.
Student Council, Character Crew, Chorus- Will occasionally be pulled from class. Students must be responsible, to attend and make up work.
It is assigned as review, and is necessary.
Varies by night; we are reasonable.
Centers' work will be assigned Wednesday and Thursday, and due Friday. Friday will be test day.
Assignments and necessary supplies are reviewed at the end of the day.
Graded work will be sent home in a Homework Folder on Wednesdays. Please sign the back paper and return the folder with its contents.
Our standards are high; effort counts!
We will work our hardest to help your child reach his/her potential.
We must help each other! We are on the same side. Please inform us of any questions or concerns you have.

Review Games- Jeopardy, Who Wants to Be A Millionaire
Group work- LAL Centers, Science Labs, Math problem solving
Extra Attention- Student of the month, Jobs, Writing Star
Extra Credit- Independent studies available for Reading, Writing, Math, and Science
Surprises- Toys, Homework Passes, Join them (specials and outside activities)

If we can engage a child's interest, we can teach him. So, teaching must vary in the approach to each child, the style with which he learns, and include elements of surprise.
