Seton Hall Medical School
One day in high school, as the boys are skipping class, they accidentally get pulled into a presentation about the Seton Hall University Pre-Med program.

They learn that a medical degree requires 4 years of undergraduate (pre-med studies), 4 years of medical school, and 4 years of residency (internship).
The Pact
Then and there the boys make a PACT. They will all apply to the program and, if they get accepted, graduate together.

Goals and Success
Newark, New Jersey
Not all influences in the streets of Newark were negative. The boys took a lot of inspiration from the city's hip-hop scene. Music inspires them throughout their story.
Home Life
The three boys have many things in common, including the fact that they all grew up in "fatherless" households. The absence of a father made a big impact on all three.
The three doctors have written a book called The Bond about their relationships with their father.
Newark faces the struggles of any economically depressed area:

Homelessness
Unemployment
Drug and Alcohol abuse
