What is Anime?
Genres of Anime
There are at least 41 different types of it. There are more common ones like action and adventure because a lot of people like exciting and fun filled stuff like that. There are many different animes meant for people who like different things, if you like romantic animes, you most likely wont watch ones about fighting.
The most predominantly used anime genre yet almost never used on its own, as its name implies deals with usually light humor although it is very easily overdone.
By far of the most common genres out there and the name basically explains all. There could be a lot of fighting and drama in action. It can mix with other genres like comedy, adventure, or fantasy.
Also one of the most common genres. It deals with a lot of charters moving around and exploring new places, these animes tend to be very long and drawn out but the characters typically have a solid background.
The genre that keeps the viewers what is going to happen next, usually involves a chain of unexplained events, where the protagonist tried to solve them. It is often mixed with psychological and horror genre
Despite the name, the horror anime isn't very scary, instead it implies a lot of blood shed mutilation, could be gruesome. often used with drama and demon genres.
Pretty common genre, deals with evil spirts, demons, witches, etc. Normally combined with the action or adventure genres.
Suspenseful, shocking and full of emotion. Characters and the plot are usually well developed and viewers are very easily swept up with emotion and side with one character or a group of character.
Magic worlds, magical powers and monsters. Usually combined with adventure, action, and history. Characters often have a very poor background but the art is almost always breath taking with unique scenery and character detail.
Has to do with spirits, demons, and other supernatural entities, different from the magic genre as it includes more out of the ordinary questions such as aliens and time travel
Is basically an indicator of an anime aimed at the young males ages (7-18). They tend to be incorporated with the harem, mecha and martial arts genres and has a strong focus on conflict resolution via fighting.
Sub and Dub Difference
Anime is either dubbed or subbed. Dubbed is when the anime is playing but the people has edited the japanese voice and replaced it with an English one. Subbed is when you can hear the japaneses voices but there is English words (sub titles) at the bottom.
Manga is a Japanese genre of cartoons, comic books, and animated films. Most animes start off first with the manga. They draw everything out like a comic book but you read right to left. Then the manga can be created into a animated show, which is anime.
Top Animes (most popular)
Usually the longer the anime, more popularity. Most of it depends on how exciting and how much people like watching it.
Very often incorporated with the fantasy, mecha and space genres, typically includes technology that may be possible in the future by currently isn't, such as teleportation, inter galaxy space flight and advanced civilization.
Deals with the detailed creation and progression of the romantic relationship between two charters. Normally paired with comedy and harem.

Famous artist (manga drawer)
One famous manga artist, that also had his manga made into a popular anime is Noriaki Kubo, known from his pen name Tite Kubo. He was born on June 26th 1977. He is best known for his manga series Bleach, which has sold over 82 million copies as of 2013.
History of Anime
Began at the start of the 20th century, when japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques that were being explored west. The first generation of animators in the late 1910's included Oten Shimokawa, Jun'ichi Kouchi and Seitaro Kitayama, referred to as the fathers of Anime.

During world war 2, propaganda films such as Momotaro No Umiwashi (1943) and Momotaro: Umi No Shipei (1945) were made, that later being the first anime feature films. During the 1970s. anime developers became famous some shows including Lupin 3 and Mazinger Z.

Anime is Japanese cartoon animation. There are many different types of Anime that fits the different people who like watching it. It is very entertaining and fun to watch and enjoy.
