Zeus The greatest & most powerful god in ancient Greek mythology was Zeus. He was considered the ruler of gods & humans as well as the protecter of cities homes & guest. People blieved that Zeus brought thunder, lightning, rain, & wind to Earth. Zeus & the olympia Olympia, a city in Greece, was one of the many places where Zeus was honored. In the 5 century BC the Greeks built a large temple there that held one of the seven wonders or Zeus. It stood about 40 feet high & was made of ivory & gold. Ruler of the gods Zeus grew up & wanted to take control of his father Crouns'' kingdom. Using a magic potion he released his brother & sister from Crouns stomach. With his two brothers Zeus fought for ten years to force the Titans from power. Finilly Zeus won & became the cheif god, with power over heaven. by:Jose valdez zeus
