LORDE
Ella Yelich-O'Connor, commonly known as Lorde, is a 17yr old musician. She was born on November 7, 1996 in Devonport, New Zealand, and landed a record deal at 13yrs old. Her song, 'Royals' has over 100,000,000 views on Youtube, and even gave her the number 1 spot on the, 'Hot 100' chart!
FAMILY LIFE
Furthermore, singer Lorde once discussed in an interview with Teen Vogue, "I've grown up in the same suburb my whole life... [and] come from a big, loud family, I'm the quieter one." Furthermore, Lorde has been described as, "...a teen you forget is a teen." In fact, her maturity is something Lorde thanks her family for and even mentioned, "My family [is what] keeps me grounded."

Influences

Lorde' s style of music was generated by the heavy influence over the rap/ hip-hop genre. In addition, Lorde also was influenced by the artists she grew up listening to which include: Neil Young, FleetWood Mac, The Smiths, Etta James, and Otis Redding. Furthermore, with her mom being a poet, Lorde was inspired with her writing by studying authors such as Ezra Pound, T.S. Eliot, Raymond Carver, and Sylvia Plath.
Schooling
There isn't much word on Lorde's schooling. However, with Lorde only recently turning 17, it is known that she still has to complete high school, and is currently is taking a break from it, but plans to return shortly. Like most celebrities who are still in highschool, it is expected that lorde may take online classes or complete required assignments with a private tutor in order to receive her diploma.
AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS
Lorde's first single, Royals, became the number 1 hit song on the New Zealand Top 40 list, and even reached number 1 on the Billboard Top 100, making her the first New Zealand solo artist to have a number 1 song in the United States since 1996. Furthermore, even with her album release only being a year ago, Lorde has been nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year, record of the year, best pop vocal album, best pop solo performance, and furthermore has been nominated for the World Music Awards for World’s Best Entertainer of the Year,World’s Best Video, World’s Best Song, World’s Best Live Act, World’s Best Female Artist, World’s Best Album, and lastly for People's Choice Award for Favorite Breakout Artist.
