Transcript of Favorites Prezi (Owl City)

Owl City is the musical brainchild of Adam Young Adam Young launched the project (Owl City) in 2007 while living at his parents' home in Owatonna, Minnesota. What/Who is Owl City? ...and Owl City was born... Owl City Troubled by insomnia, Young began spending his evenings in the household basement, where a computer and several instruments provided a diversion from his sleeping patterns. He eventually combined those diversions into a blend of electronica and emo-pop Owl City Owl City's Music "Of June" April 2007 "Maybe I'm Dreaming"
April 2008 "Ocean Eyes" July 2009 Owl City has relesed 4 albums sience 2007 and has a new one coming out in June of this year. "Peppermint Winter"
December 2010 "All Things Bright and
Beautiful"
Coming June 2011 Early Years (2007-2009) While working loading Coca-Cola trucks in his hometown Young turned to composing music. Songs were uploaded to MySpace upon completion, and Young began attracting a surprising amount of attention on the networking site. Of particular note was "Hello Seattle," a fabricated ode to the Emerald City whose viral popularity earned Young a record contract with Universal Republic. aka. Not to long ago Owl City's Music is put under the genres of... Electropop
Synthpop
Indietronica
Ethereal wave
Emo-pop
New wave
And under the broad term alternative Basicaly saying, it's a type of music
all it's own... Owl City's Music Lyrics... One of the reasons people tend to like owl city is because of his crazy lyrics... When I introduced a friend to his music she described it as a imaginative and unrealistic story... ...sort of like a crazy dream in the form of music... This drawing I found is someone's response to owl cit's music... Why I love Owl City's music... It's Imaginative... It's fun to listen to... It's unique... If you're the bird whenever we pretend it's summer
Then I'm the worm, I know the part, it's such a bummer
But fair is fair, if my segments get separated
I'll scream and you'll be there

Close your eyes, close my eyes
Slide the cotton off of your shoulder
And feel the shine, feel the shine
I'm hooked so toss me over and cast a line, oh I'll try
Oh, throw a party and greet my undersea friends
It depends, as they arrive, if they arrive

If I'm your boy, let's take a short cut we remember
And we'll enjoy, picking apples in late September
Like we've done for years
Then we'll take a long walk through the corn field
And I'll kiss you between the ears

If you're my girl, swirl me around your room with feeling
And as we twirl, the glow in the dark stars on your ceiling
Will shine for us, as love sweeps over the room
'Cause we tend to make each other blush, you make me blush

You're the bird and I'm the worm and it's plain to see
That we were meant to be

We were meant to be
We were meant to be

If you're the bird
If you're the bird
Then I'm the worm
We were meant to be You and I left our troubles far behind, troubles far behind
But I still have just one more question on my mind
For all my pals who live in the oceans and the seas
With fronds like these well, who needs anemones? You and I left our troubles far behind, troubles far behind
But I still have just one more question on my mind
For all my pals who live in the oceans and the seas
With friends like these well, who needs enemies If you notice, the chorus is not the same in both verses. Owl city used a play on words to express the same idea. (see underlined portions of the chorus) Lastly, I love Owl City's music because it just sounds AMAZING! And isn't that reason enough? By: Katie Anne Moulton For an example, I'll use my favorite song by owl city titled, "The Bird and The Worm"
