Hook The Utopian theme In the novel Of mice and men written by Jhon Steinbeck we can clearly see how the Utopian theme is show. The main two characters of this story are George and Lenny. They are two migrant workers that have their own american dream: when they save enough money they want to buy a ranch and have rabbits, chickens, cows and with their own crops. Quotes Direct: "OK. Someday we're gonna get the jack together
and we're have a little house and a couple of
acres and a cow and some pigs"-Steinbeck page 14 Indirect: "With us ain't like that. We got future. We got somebody to talk that gives a damn about us. We don't have to sit in no bar room blowin'
in our jack jus' because we got no place else to go. If them other guys
gets in jail the can rot for all anybody gives a damn. But no us."
