RUBRICS Globalization Higher Level Thinking Assessment The purpose of assessment is used to improve instruction A good starting point for assessment is to clarify what the end of the year expectations are. Evidence will show how well students are progressing towards that goal. You won't know what to teach tomorrow until you know what the students know today. Instruction and assessment can occur simultaneously. It is a good idea to use notebooks to take anectdotal redords and notes from students. Ask students how they would grade themself by looking at the rubric. The most useful information that is gained is from daily classroom routines. It is important to use literacy in high level of creative ways. it is important to teach kids to become global thinkers and produce students who can out think others to make it in a competitive world. It is important for students to understand the process of problem solving.
