ENERGY FLOW IN ECOSYSTEMS
All organisms need energy to grow, move, repair, and reproduce. How do living things get the energy they need? Most organisms get their energy from sunlight. This can happen either directly or indirectly.Lettuce, and most other plants, get energy directly from sunlight through
photosynthesis.During photosynthesis, plant leaves produce glucose. The plants use the chemical energy in glucose to carry out life functions. In a ecosystem, plants are called producers because they use energy from sunlight to make, or produce, their own food.
Animals
Predators
Prey have developed adaptations to avoid predators. Some animals release a poison when they get attacked. Some have bright colors to warn away predators.Others act like a more dangerous animal. Some prey use camouflage to make themselves look like something else such as a plant,a stick,or a rock.Animals also use behavioral adaptations to avoid being killed by predators.Have you ever heard the expression,''playing possum?''It means to hold very still. When threatened, possums play dead.Predators that only hunt live prey will leave them alone.

Ecosystem
Prey
Predators are wild animals that hunt, or prey on,
other animals. All animals need food to live. These
animals need the flesh of the animals that they kill
to survive. Weasels, hawks, wolves, mountain lions,
and grizzly bears are all predators. Predators are carnivores, which means their diet consists of meat. Some predators, such as coyotes and bears are also scavengers, meaning they will eat the carcasses of animals that they didn't hunt themselves.
There are many types of animals
For Example:
Carnivores, means
animals that eat other animals, Herbivores: animals that eat plants, grass, fruit and trees, Insectivores : animals that eat bugs or insects. Some animals are different color, because they're different species of that group. There are five categories of animals like : Amphibians, birds,
arthropods, mammals and reptiles.
Symbiosis
Symbiosis is a close relationship between organisms of two different species. There are three types of symbiosis: parasitism, mutualism, and commensalism. Symbiosis means "living together " . Parasitism is a type of symbiosis in which one of the organisms is helped and the other organism is harmed. The organism that is helped is called a parasite. Mutualism is a symbiotic relationship in which both organism are helped.
A bird called the cattle egret and the rhinoceros have this kind of relationship. The bird eats parasites that live in the rhino's hide. This helps the rhino by removing the harmful parasites and helps the bird by providing food.
Food Chains
A food chain is a linear sequence of links in a food web starting from " producer " species (such as grass or trees) and ending at apex predator species (like grizzly bears or killer whales), detrivores (like earthworms or woodlice), or decomposer species (such as fungi or bacteria). A food chain also shows how the organisms are related with each other by the food they eat. Each level of a food chain represents a different tropic level.

Plant Facts
Plants, also called green plants (Viridiplantae in Latin), are multicellular eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae. They form a clade that includes the flowering plants, conifers and other gymnosperms, ferns, clubmosses, hornworts, liverworts, mosses and the green algae. Plants exclude the red and brown algae, the fungi, archaea, bacteria and animals.
Small pockets of air inside
cranberries cause them to
bounce and float in water.
Bamboo is the fastest-growing
woody plant in the world.
Trees are the longest-living
organisms on earth. The
average strawberry has 200
seeds.Its the only fruit that
bears its seeds on the outside.
Snap dragon flowers resemble a
dragon, and if you squeeze the sides , dragon's mouth will
appear to open and close.

Red Pandas are about 50-60 centimeters long. They weigh between three to five kilograms. They have chestnut colored hair, and their faces have white designs. They eat fruits, roots, bamboo shoots, acorns, and insects. They are active at night and sleep on trees in the daytime. They act alone, not in groups. They eat blossoms, berries, various plants, and bird eggs.
