Similarities
Differences
Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin were both dictators. Both men killed millions of people in order to start their own nation. They both had their own secret police and even spies. Both Hitler and Stalin had the desire to take over the world. They both blamed other groups of people when things didn't go as planned. Both men wanted to create better defense systems. Both aimed to restore their power and to take control of the people. They both ruled nations that they weren't from and both wished to industrialize their nations. Both men were extremely good military commanders. Both Hitler and Stalin had several social attacks. They were also both jailed for being a part of revolutionary activities.
Many knew that Hitler murdered people however, Stalin preferred to murder silently. Hitler had a very specific idea about about what he wanted his followers to look like. (Aryan race - tall with fair skin and light hair and blue eyes) Stalin however, said that there was no such thing as perfect people. Hitler rose to power by winning the election, whereas Stalin used politics and other manipulative ways. Hitler did many public speakings, but Stalin was very rarely seen giving public speeches. One of Hitlers aims was to restore all German pride, Stalin aim was simply to survive. Hitler was in power for a mere 12 years where as Stalin was in power for a total of 29 years. Hitler had many war allies and Stalin not so many. Hitler utterly hated communism, where as Stalin believed very strongly in communism and wanted to create a communistic world.
