Tarnishing is what happens when metal is exposed to air or water.

A Chemical property is a characteristic of a substance that can only be observed by changing it into a different substance.

Chemical Properties
Flammability is being able to burn.
Example 1- flammability
Example 4- instability
Instability is the state of being unstable.
Example 5- Decomposition
The ability to decompose; rotting or decay
Physical Properties
A physical property is a characteristic of a substance that can be observed without changing the substance into another substance.

Example 1- color change
When a color of an object changes.
Example 2- Hardness
rocks are hard
Example 3- odor
Example 4- Luster

Physical Change
Physical change is when the appearance of an object changes.
Example 1-Ice melting
This is a physical change because it only changes appearance.

If you heat water it will evaporate then turn to clouds.

A chemical change is when you change what an object to a different substance.
