There are two types of symmetry for 2-D Shapes

L.O. - To identify symmetry in shapes and complete shapes with symmetry.

Which shape is the odd one out? Say why
Triangle - doesn't have two lines of symmetry.

Rectangle - has right angles.

Ellipse - has curves

Rhombus - not the odd one out!
Line Symmetry - Lines that show where the shape would fold exactly over itself.
Rotational symmetry - How many times on a full turn that the shape is
identical to the way it looks at the start.
Shade 3 squares
so that the shape
has rotational
symmetry of order
4.
Shade 4 triangles
to give the shape
one line of
symmetry.
Shade 3 triangles
so that the shape has rotational symmetry of order 3 and no line symmetry.
