Welcome to the Fall 2016
Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.

National History
Founded: December 4, 1906 at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Founders: Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelly, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy.

Aims: Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind.

Mission: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and academic excellence, while providing service and advocacy for our communities.

Objectives: (1) to stimulate the ambition of members and (2) to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the cause of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual (3) to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood (4) and to aid downtrodden humanity in it's efforts to achieve higher social, economic, and intellectual status,
Zeta Omicron History
The Zeta Omicron (ZO) Chapter was chartered on Murray State University’s campus on January 11th, 1969 by 15 charter Brothers. ZO was the first NPHC affiliate on campus. ZO hosts a multitude of events within the Murray and Murray State University community.

Community events include:
The Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

On campus events include:
The Alpha Step-Off, which is now the largest event on campus.
The Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant, is the first and longest running competition hosted by a fraternity at MSU.

Philanthropic Chapter of the Year (March of Dimes)
First Black Organization to have a monument on Campus
Step Show Champions (MSU)
Over 80% of ZO Alumni continue to further education
ZO has been recognized multiple times for philanthropic endeavors
1st African American Mr. MSU was an Alpha Man
