Present information in small sequential steps with lots of review
Provide positive feedback
Teach meaningful tasks or skills that students will use frequently
Use fewer complex sentences; remain clear and concise with appropriate inflection and tone
Remember: it is nearly impossible to predict future achievements
Remember: deficits will occur in adaptive behavior as well as academic skills; students may have difficulty in communication, social, vocational, and independent living skills.
Some students have been mislabeled on the basis of inappropriate or biased tests, insufficient data, or both.
