What is stress?
How to manage stress
Stress, Stress is a emotional or
mental strain when we can't
cope with pressure. This Pressure
can come in many shapes and sizes. We deal with this pressure during everyday life.
When there is a threat or a danger around us our body produces hormones to help us to survive. It delivers more oxygen and sugar to important body parts, and increases heart rate and blood pressure.
Also, in this state, we are excitable, anxious, jumpy and irritable. This actually reduces our ability to work effectively with other people.
Body reaction to stress
Mouth becomes dry
Feeling of restlessness
Sweating and hands get clammy
-It's simple. Sit up straight with both feet on the floor. Close your eyes. Focus your attention on reciting -- out loud or silently -- a positive mantra such as “I feel at peace” or “I love myself.” Place one hand on your belly to sync the mantra with your breaths. Let any distracting thoughts float by like clouds.
2. Start a stress diary. Write down the answers to these in your diary
-What caused your stress ?
-How you felt, both physically and emotionally?
-How you acted in response?
-What you did to make yourself feel better?
When you feel stressful, just breath deeply and count to 10. It will help you to concentrate on your thoughts, and may help you to think and keep from doing actions that you may later regret.
