Obstacle 1 Obstacle 2 Obstacle 3 Sources Start Biography When Adams served as president he chose Clay as Secretary of State and John C. Calhan. Adams served from 1825-1829 and was the 6th president of the United States. After the Presidential Years John Quincy Adams Before the Presidency Becoming the President When Adams lost in the 1838 election he ran in the House of Representatives and was elected.Although Adams was not a popular president he was a great Representative. During the Presidential Years John Quincy Adams went to Harvard before
serving as a lawyer and writer. Fun Facts r John Quincy Adams was born in Braintree,MA on July 11th, 1762. He married Louisa Catherine Adams making a family of four. He died on February 23rd in Washington D.C. During Adam's presidency Adams tried these things.

-More roads and canals... REJECTED!!

-Law to protect Native Americans... REJECTED!!

-National university and observatory... BOTH REJECTED!!

Then Adams Lost to Jackson in the hateful 1828 election.
